The annual Florida Scrub-Jay Festival travels around the state to different important scrub areas each year:
- 2022 Lyonia Environmental Center
- 2023 Oscar Scherer State Park
- 2024 Jonathan Dickinson State Park
- Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
The 2024 Florida Scrub-Jay Festival will be partnering with this year’s SpringFest at Jonathan Dickinson State Park on Saturday, March 16th from 10am-4pm. There will be artisanal vendors, optional guided hikes, presentations, as well as educational booths!

At Home in the Scrub
‘The Florida Scrub-Jay will fascinate you with its tale of fire, hidden acorns and island history,’ begins Archbold’s 20 minute film featuring the federally Threatened Florida Scrub-Jay. Archbold’s Education Coordinator Dustin Angell brings viewers into the Florida Scrub-Jay’s curious world.
